Lawrence County Earth Day Ewing Park Clean-Up Scheduled

Lawrence County Earth Day is happy to announce that Boy Scout Troop 806 and the Rotary Club of Ellwood City will be sponsoring/leading a clean-up in Ewing Park on Saturday, April 17th. Those who want to lend a hand should meet at Shelter #8 at 9:30 a.m. and bring a trash bag and gloves. Please follow social distancing guidelines. Imposters Posing as Publisher’s Clearing House Contacting Local Residents; Don’t Be a Victim

With the numerous scams running rampant in our area, one specific scam has been gaining traction recently. According to Mayor Anthony Court, he has received at least four or five phone calls regarding scammers posing at Publisher’s Clearing House. “Unsolicited phone calls are always a scam,” Court said. He said local people have lost out on a lot of money. “I spoke with one lady who lost $18,000 in a similar type of scam,” he said. Publisher’s Clearing House is a legitimate organization. According to its social media post Tuesday evening, the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Foods, and Entertainment Festival Committee has cancelled its 2021 event. This postponement marks a second consecutive year the festival has been canceled due to coronavirus safety concerns. New Castle Woman Indicted on Multiple Drug Counts

PITTSBURGH – A resident of New Castle, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of violating federal narcotics laws, Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman announced Monday. The four-count Indictment, returned on April 7 and unsealed today, named Deia Eggleston, age 46, as the sole defendant. All Adults in Pennsylvania Are Now Eligible to Schedule COVID-19 Vaccination Appointments

Governor Tom Wolf and the COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force announced that effective Tuesday, April 13th all Pennsylvania adults will be eligible to schedule an appointment for the COVID -19 vaccine. “We need to maintain acceleration of the vaccine rollout, especially as case counts and hospitalization rates have increased,” Gov.
