Undefeated 12U Ladies Capture Beaver/Lawrence County Championship with 7-0 Victory Over Beaver

The razor sharp 12u team traveled to Gaston Park in New Castle on Thursday evening and came away with a 7-0 win over Beaver to win the Beaver/Lawrence County Championship. The team finished the season with a record of 15-0.

Angie Nardone was fabulous in the circle as she tossed a two hit shutout in the six inning affair. She fanned 10, walked two and only allowed one runner past second base. Six different batters contributed hits to the well balanced offense.

Saige Chambers and Kali Barnett led the way with a double and triple respectively. Aliya Garroway, Maria Ioanilli, Mollie Street, and Jenna Vetica added singles. RBI’s were provided by Nardone, Garroway, Ioanilli, Vetica and Katelyn Wehman. Street scored twice while Kyla Servick, Garroway, Grace Balin and Makinley Magill each scored once.

Balin and Servick also made solid plays handling a pop up and a ground ball while Center-fielder Barnett made a fantastic running grab on a fly ball to prevent extra bases. Cannon armed Catcher Ioanilli gunned down a runner trying to steal second base to end the five.

The team was talented, unselfish, hard working and extremely dominant as they outscored their fifteen opponents by a score of 171-8 including a combined 38-0 in their four playoff victories.
