Riverside Baseball Federation 2024 Registration Now Available

Riverside Baseball Federation (RBF) spring registration for its 2024 season is now underway. The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation (ECABF) will host a weekly winter clinic set to begin Sunday, January 14th. Registration is now available for the Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation’s (ECABF) 2023 Fall Ball season. The season will be six to eight weeks at four area locations with four levels of league play. The season is schedule to take place August 26th/27th until October 20th/21st. Field locations include Friedhoff Field, Ellwood City; Rosannah Field, Ellwood City; Shenango Athletic Complex, New Castle; and Union Fields, also in New Castle. UPDATED April 21st 11:32 a.m. — The opening day parade and ceremony has been postponed untiled next Saturday, April 29th due to weather forecasts. The schedule of events will remain the same Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation (ECABF) will hold its opening day ceremony on Saturday April 22nd. The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation (ECABF), one of western Pennsylvania’s oldest amateur baseball programs, held their 73rd Annual Opening Day on Saturday at the Ewing Park Baseball Complex. Players from the Little League, Minor League, Farm League and Tee-Ball League participated in a parade to Freidhoff Field-the home of the first Little League program, in Lawrence, Beaver, Butler and Mercer counties. Seventeen teams, led by Mayor Anthony Court, were greeted by the Ellwood City Wolverines’ Head Coach Chris Weisz, his staff and varsity players. Keller, Ellwood City Down Riverside To Claim 69th Little League Championship

Jordan Keller powered Ellwood City to a 10-8 victory over Riverside Saturday night, helping EC claim its championship in the 69th Ellwood City Little League Tournament. Keller collected a home run, two doubles and six RBI. Ellwood City successfully defended its title from last season and won its first back-to-back titles since 1971-1972. Ellwood City downed Seneca Valley North, 5-3, to advance to the finals of the 69th Ellwood City Little League Tournament at Freidhoff Field on Thursday night.  With some great play from rival Riverside, a rematch between the rivals could decide the championship. Ellwood City edged Riverside, 7-6, in the nightcap of the opening night of the 69th Ellwood City Little League Tournament at Freidhoff Field Monday night. 69th Ellwood City Little League Tournament Starts Monday

The 69th Ellwood City Little League Tournament will begin Monday night at Freidhoff Field at the Ewing Park Baseball Complex. The tournament, which began in 1952, will double-elimination three-game minimum per team format. The teams entered in the tournament are host Ellwood City, Riverside, Neshannock, Seneca Valley North and Mohawk. The teams participating represent some of the most successful baseball programs in western Pennsylvania. These programs have contributed to their respective high schools capturing 68 section titles, 20 WPIAL championships and nine PIAA state crowns.
