Venezie Sporting Goods & Apparel has announced its annual scholarship opportunity for area students this year.  The scholarship, now in its third year, will be available to four local school districts. “We love our community and we love our students, and it is time we continue to recognize them for all their hard work inside and outside of the classroom,” said Vice President of Operations, Vanessa Venezie. Club Hope Foundation is hosting a virtual “Pink Out” Cancer fundraiser in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Club Hope Foundation Sells Pink Out Challenge Shirts for Ellwood vs. Riverside Football

The Club Hope Foundation is selling Pink Out T-Shirts for $10 to be worn for the football games during October. Club Hope is doing a Football Challenge at the Ellwood vs. Riverside game on October 12. A teacher from each school will go on the field at halftime and throw mini-footballs into a garbage can. The teacher that loses has to wear a t-shirt from the other school for the remainder of the game. Venezie Sporting Goods & Apparel is starting a scholarship for students in both Ellwood City and Riverside School Districts to start. Vanessa Venezie, operations manager of Venezie Sporting Goods & Apparel and the assistant girls varsity basketball coach for Lincoln High School, came up with the idea of starting a scholarship all while sitting at her brother Luca Botti’s graduation ceremony from LHS this past June. “While sitting at my brother’s graduation I realized there weren’t many scholarships for athletes who also excelled in the classroom,” Venezie said. “I remembered when I was in school there was a scholarship offered…


Young’s Custard Stand Raises Awareness and Money for ALS

Carli Young’s mother was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis [ALS],  better known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease in February of 2017. It’s a progressive neuro-degenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS has no cure and very few drugs to help slow the progression. “Diagnosis day was the day I lost my mother. It was a long time coming.
