Bernstine Announces $225,000 in School Safety Grant Awards for Area Schools

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced that $225,000 in funding has been awarded to nine school districts in the 10th Legislative District to help improve student safety through a new grant program established by lawmakers earlier this year. The School Safety and Security Grant Program provides grants to school districts, intermediate units, area vocational-technical schools, charter schools and private residential rehabilitative institutions for a wide variety of projects to improve school safety. Bernstine Invites Veterans to Register for His Nov. 9 Veterans Breakfast

ELLWOOD CITY – In an effort to recognize those in the area who have served our country in the armed forces, Rep. House Bill 2030 Passes, Ellwood Council Hires Lobbyist to Oppose

Yesterday, House Bill 2030, which modifies the Ellwood City borough electric department, passed in a 106-89 vote. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-10, New Beaver, will now pass to the state senate. The bill will prevent the borough from transferring funds from the electric department to the General Fund and includes additional provisions for consumer protection. The bill’s language limits its impact to boroughs providing electric to more than one county. Ellwood City- Citing a recently passed storm water management tax as motivation, Rep. Bernstine Announces $460,000 to Improve Drinking Water in Wampum

HARRISBURG – Rep.
