ECPD Completes Tactical Entry & Life Saving Measure Training

The Ellwood City Police Department would like to thank Samuel Teolis for allowing the use of a vacant structure to conduct a tactical entry and life saving measure training. On Thursday, June 9th, the Police Department, along with the Ellwood City Fire Department, utilized Mr. Teolis’s vacant structure to complete this training as a team to assist in keeping our tactics fresh. Mayor Anthony J. Court commemorates May 8 as V-E Day as the 75th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe as the Germans surrendered on May 8, 1945. Samuel Teolis, Life Chaplain on the Lawrence County Chapter 112 of the Disabled Veterans gave tribute to the 126 brave men who lost their lives for our freedom.  Samuel was in the Infantry as a private in the Third Army in Germany at the time in the battle of Central Europe. Mayor Proclaims December 7 Joseph Gasper Day

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed December 7, 2019 as “Joseph Gasper Day.” Court presented a proclamation to Gasper, a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Gasper is our area’s last World War II Pearl Harbor Survivor. “Mr. Gasper is a War Hero,” Court said.
