Court recently presented a proclamation to the 2024 Ellwood City Wolverines Football Team for one of the most successful seasons in the history of the school The team finished with a remarkable 10-1 record in 2024, finishing the regular season undefeated and securing the MAC Section Title. Mayor Court Presents Proclamation Honoring Hoots Music Center 30-Year Anniversary

Mayor Anthony J. Court recently presented a proclamation to Tony “Hoots” Mazzei to help celebrate his 30 years as “Hoots Music Center”. “Tony Mazzei served Ellwood City and the surrounding areas with dedication and commitment in the music industry,” said Mayor Court in an emailed statement. “Throughout his history he provided our community with music lessons and instruments with grace and distinction. Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to Erma Winters on her 100th birthday on September 2, 2024. Erma was born on  September 2, 1924.  She has four children that are her greatest gifts, Georgana, Steven, Eric and Rosemary. Erma was very artistic learning how to paint porcelain china and etched stem ware with different designs which was sold at high end Department stores. Mayor Court Proclaims Joseph Connor Roth Day

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed April 4, 2024 as Joseph Connor Roth day in the Borough of Ellwood City. Roth was recognized as being the all-time leading scorer in Ellwood City Boys’ Basketball with 2,109 points in his career. He was a four year starter and helped Ellwood City win the WPIAL Class-3A title in the 2020-21 season. His point total placed him 5th overall in Lawrence County all-time scoring and in the top 30 All-time in the WPIAL. Jessie Swogger Berkebile Day Declared In Ellwood City

Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed Thursday, September 28, 2023 to be “Jessie Swogger Berkebile Day” in the Borough of Ellwood City. Jessie was presented with a proclamation on her 81st birthday celebration. She was the first full-time woman police officer in the Borough of Ellwood City. She was hired by Ellwood City Borough Council on August 22, 1979 and started working on September 16, 1979. Jessie is the mother of the Borough Manager, Kevin Swogger. Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to Eagle Scout Matthew Gebhardt, Jr. on Friday, August 18th. Matthew was found worthy of the rank of Eagle Scout and was honored. The Eagle Scout rank represents the highest advancement in scouting fulfilling requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills. Divine Grace Parish Food Bank Receives Proclamation

Mayor Anthony J. Court proudly presented a proclamation to Divine Grace Ministerium Social Services and Food Bank on Wednesday, June 14th.
