Pittsburgh, PA – Due to the winter storm, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on several roadways in Lawrence County. PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways: Lawrence County Interstate 79 Interstate 376 On roadways with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles not affected by restrictions on these or other roadways must move to the right lane. PennDOT Issues Updates to Planned Vehicle Restrictions in Advance of Winter Weather

Harrisburg, PA – In anticipation of winter weather beginning later today, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) are adjusting planned vehicle restrictions that were announced yesterday. Highlighted information indicates a change from the January 14 announcement. Additional speed and vehicle restrictions on these and other interstates could be added depending on changing conditions. Route 288 Zelienople Road Reopening Thursday in Franklin Township

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing the reopening of a section of Zelienople Road (Route 288) in Franklin Township, Beaver County, will occur Thursday, November 4 weather permitting. A section of Zelienople Road between Lake Road and Old Furnace Road is expected to reopen to traffic by 5 p.m. Thursday.  The roadway has been closed continuously since July 26 for the Route 288 realignment project sponsored by the Zelienople Airport Authority.  Additionally, Lake Road (Route 1010) will open by 5 p.m. Thursday. 2021 Detour Planned For Route-288 Near Zelienople Airport

No worries for those last minute shoppers heading to Cranberry Township via Route-288 thru Zelienople. The realignment project of State Route 288 near the Zelienople Municipal Airport will not be causing a detour to impact traffic until beginning May 2021 according to PennDOT spokesperson Steve Cowan. “The detour is anticipated to begin in mid-May and last most of the construction season,” said Cowan. “The end date has not been determined because the schedule has not be finalized yet.  The design consultant thinks they will have additional info on the schedule at some point next week.” The construction is part of…


Beaver Valley Interchange on PA Turnpike to Be Closed Weekdays

According to a news release made available this week, a three-week closure is needed for resurfacing project at the Beaver Valley Interchange on PA Turnpike.  The release reads as follows: The Pennsylvania Turnpike is alerting motorists of a three-week closure of the Beaver Valley Interchange, Exit #13, in Beaver County.  Motorists will not be able to enter or exit the Turnpike at the Beaver Valley Interchange weekdays starting Sept. 21 through Oct. 9.
