Route 65 Mercer Road Slide Repair, Water Line Relocation Work Begins Wednesday

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced slide repair work on Route 65 (Mercer Road) in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County will begin Wednesday, September 17 weather permitting. Beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, a portion of Route 65 between Grandview Road and Bennett Drive will close to traffic continuously through mid-November. Municipal crews will relocate a water line and PennDOT forces will conduct cross pipe repair work, slide remediation, and pavement restoration. Route 288 Seal Coating To Begin July 14th

Starting Sunday, July 14, PennDOT maintenance crews will begin seal coating operations on Route 288 in Franklin Township. According to a press release, crews will start at the county line near Zelienople, working westbound toward Route 65. Once the westbound lane is complete, they’ll turn around and seal coat the eastbound lane back toward Zelienople. At least one state road off Route 288 is also scheduled for seal coating during this project according to the township. PHOTOS: Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project Is More Than Halfway Complete

Significant progress has been made along the Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) as the Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project is more than halfway completed. The $269 million project, which began in December 2022, constructs two new bridges to the north of the current bridge and expands the roadway from two to three lanes in each direction, adding widened shoulders and median. The Route 65 Country Club Bridge Replacement project over Connoquenessing Creek will begin in October 2025 in North Sewickley and Franklin Townships, Beaver County. Improvements include removal of the existing poor condition three-span non-composite steel multigirder structure built in 1976, construction of a two-span steel plate girder bridge using Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques, and full depth pavement reconstruction along approximately 850 feet of SR 65 and 180 feet of SR 1006 (Mercer Road). Paving Set To Begin On Lawrence Avenue

As part of the ongoing PennDOT SR351 project, construction crews will start base repairs on Lawrence Avenue beginning Wednesday night and continue repairs through Friday night. According to borough manager Kevin Swogger, road work will be done between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Lawrence Avenue is due to expect paving this week.
