The Riverside Golf Team qualified for the WPIAL team playoffs and will be competing tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Indian Run Golf Course in Avella, PA., at 9:00 a.m. The team will leave at 6a.m. from the high school parking lot. Anthony Tollari III’s Benefit will be September 23rd at the SOI Club, Ellwood City, PA. A Wing Fest it will be from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. The benefit will host wings, food, and fun along with a Chinese Auction. More details to follow. The next meeting will be Thursday, August 10th at 7p.m., Eat-n-Park, Chippawa, PA. Anthony Tollari is a high school student at Riverside who was in a pool-related accident nearly two weeks ago that has left him partially paralyzed. “After a Colt League Championship baseball defeat, Anthony was at his home, and dove into his pool. He landed extremely awkward, and broke his neck. He was rushed to the hospital, and had to have emergency surgery to save his life. Anthony is now in a facility for at least two months to attempt to regain his feeling and mobility,” his GoFundMe page states. NORTH SEWICKLEY TWP. –The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II, through their scholarship program, continues to honor the achievements of outstanding Lincoln and Riverside High School seniors by encouraging them to pursue their dreams through higher education. Tiffin University right-hander Michael Boswell finished his rookie campaign with five wins in 11 appearances, helping the Dragons post their best winning percentage in program history. For his efforts, Boswell was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman Pitcher of the Year, the first time a Tiffin player has ever taken the award. Boswell finished second on the team in innings and wins, and averaged 8.02 strikeouts per nine innings.
