Bernstine Announces Satellite Office Hours in Beaver, Butler Counties

In another effort to deliver superior constituent service to residents of the 10th Legislative District at no additional cost to taxpayers, Rep. CCBC Leads American Association of Community Colleges Industry-Informed Infrastructure Initiative

Monaca, PA – Community college leaders and industry partners gathered at Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) recently to begin a year-long collaborative project and discuss partnerships for economic development and workforce growth in Pennsylvania and Ohio. CCBC was chosen as the lead and host site for this project due to the College’s leadership for workforce development throughout the tristate region. Ellwood City Man Smashes Front Window of Main Street Bar & Grill According to the criminal complaint, earlier this month police were called for a disturbance near the rear parking lot of Main Street Bar & Grill. Michael David Pounds, 28, of Ellwood City, was among several people involved in an altercation, he appeared intoxicated, had a bloody lip and head, and had a large lump on his left cheek. Good Samaritan Hospice Butterfly Release

Good Samaritan Hospice is hosting a butterfly release at 2p.m. on Sunday the 27, at the Four Seasons Pavilion at Brady’s Run Park in Beaver Falls. Anyone is welcome to release a butterfly to honor and celebrate the memory of a loved one. Participants are asked to reserve a live butterfly in advance for $10 each. Anglers Warned to Not Eat Fish from Shenango River

The Pennsylvania Departments of Agriculture (Ag), Environmental Protection (DEP), and Health (DOH) along with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced a “DO NOT EAT” advisory for all fish species caught in the Shenango River in Mercer and Lawrence Counties due to extremely high levels of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB). The advisory extends to all fish between the Shenango Lake Dam and the mouth of the Shenango River in New Castle, PA. DEP is currently investigating possible sources of the PCB contamination. Back to School: Updated Art Studio

The Ellwood City School District students are officially back to school starting today! As with every new school year, things change, usually for the better and the benefit of the students. This year one of the biggest renovations the Ellwood City High School made is an updated art classroom and studio. Portersville Man Charged with DUI After Hitting School Bus

According to the criminal complaint, on August 4 a Pennsylvania State Trooper was dispatched to a two vehicle crash on State Route 488. Upon arrival it was determined Jason Scott Sunday, 41, of Portersville had crossed into oncoming traffic striking a school bus. The officer detected an alcoholic odor emitting from his persons, to which Sunday denied but admitted to being on Suboxone at the time of the crash. After completing a drug influence evaluation it was determined Sunday was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol and will be facing charges of driving under the influence of both…

The Annual Pie Festival hosted by the Lincoln Blue Band will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24 at Helling Stadium.
