Lincoln High Grad Stars in BC3 Golf Debut

Tyler Good, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate in his first appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, shot a 4-over 76 Friday to lead the Pioneers to an eight-stroke victory over Westmoreland County Community College in Apollo. BC3 won the match, held at the Links at Spring Church Golf Course, 321-329. “(Good) played very well, considering he opened the first hole with a double-bogey,” BC3 golf coach Bill Miller said. “After that he played extremely well and was very consistent throughout the day.” Michael Rozzi, a 2016 Neshannock High graduate, fired an 85 for BC3, which is 5-1…

Stiefel Hockey Summer Season Wrapup: Firing Squad and Goose Take Division Titles

The Stiefel Hockey league completed its summer season by crowning champions in both its “A” and “B” divisions.  In the “A” division Goose captured the title after sweeping Young’s Barber Shop in a best of 3 championship.  Matt Puntureri led the way for Goose picking up 21 goals in 4 playoff games with help from his brothers Nate, Michael, and Tyler. T.J. Hervatine was also a valuable player in the playoffs, Neil Parrish remained solid in net for another season with Goose.  Including the regular season and playoffs, Goose outscored their opponents by 132 to 46 in completing an undefeated…

Lemon Toss Challenge: “More Than Just a Fundraiser”

As part of childhood cancer awareness month, two local teachers have decided to take part in raising awareness and funds for the cause by organizing a lemon toss challenge at the Wolverines, Beaver Falls football game this evening. Class of 1957 60th Anniversary Celebration

The 60th anniversary of the Lincoln High Class of 1957 was celebrated by 45 members accompanied by their spouses, friends and guests at two informal gatherings last month. Balloons decorated tables at Nico’s Cafe on Wampum Ave., where appetizers were enjoyed and friendships were renewed the first night. The next evening, 70 people gathered at the Saxon Club for a buffet-style dinner, catered by Nico’s, followed by an entertaining program emceed by James Meehan, class president from Ellwood City. Richard Charles of Kent, OH., won the 50/50 which raised money for the class-sponsored scholarship which is given annually to members…

Senators’ Letter to Gov. Wolf Regarding Amazon’s HQ2
