Following the progress being made on the demolition of 509 through 515 Lawrence Ave., these photos were snapped this morning by our journalist to show the current state of the buildings. As of right now the front side of the stretch is still intact. We are still waiting to hear back from the Borough Manager regarding the expected completion time of the project. Updates to follow.

Defense wins championships. It’s the famous phrase by many in football. Both teams on the field friday night proved worthy of winning based upon defensive play; however, only one team may prevail. The Hopewell Vikings were able to get that last push to win last night’s game over the Wolverines. The first quarter accounted for only 7 total drives by both teams as the quarter only took 20 minutes of actual time. Local fitness studio, BodyShop Group Fitness, will deviate from its normal schedule to host a special 3 hour hip hop inspired workout with the aim to help with the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey. Two weeks ago, Texas was hit with unprecedented rainfall from Hurricane Harvey. While most of the immediate needs of food and water are being met, thousands of families are returning to find their homes nearly destroyed by the damage and practically uninhabitable. The Little Beaver Historical Society, located at 803 Plumb Street, Darlington PA., 16115, will be hosting a fall festival on September 9 and 10 from 9a.m. – 5p.m. All of the Society’s buildings including the Greersburg Academy, the Red Brick Museum the McCarl industrial museum, 1820’s log cabin and forge will be open during the festival and free to tour.
