Public Invited to Union Employee Press Conference Tonight

The following press release was submitted: Ellwood City, PA – Ellwood City School’s blue-collar union employees, members of 32BJ SEIU, will set the record straight on stalled negotiations with the School Board on Thursday, November 9 at 6:45 p.m. outside of Lincoln High School. The District’s longtime custodians and food service workers have been in talks for a new contract with the Board since March. Notice is hereby given that Ellwood City Revitalization (ECR) has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of 509 / 511 Lawrence Avenue (Parcel lD #12-016800) and 513 / 515 Lawrence Avenue (Parcel lD #12-005300). These are two contiguous lots in Ellwood City’s downtown. Flood Warnings

Flood warnings have been issued for the following local counties: Beaver County, southern Lawrence County,  southwestern Butler County, and northwestern Allegheny County. According to eye witness reports, parts of Brush Creek Park are flooded. A strong rise is occurring on the Connoquenessing Creek in Zelienople, and the creek may rise out of its banks later this morning.


Ellwood City Moose Christmas Fair

The Ellwood City Moose, 1400 Factory Ave. will be having a Christmas Fair on Sunday December 3rd from 10am – 3pm. This is the first year the Moose is having the event, which will be open to the public and will feature local vendors of all kinds, Christmas crafters, a concession stand, food and bake sale, and a Chinese auction. There will be 18-20 hand crafters, wreathes, hand painted bottles, leather, and others. There will also be consultants like Luluroe, health and beauty, nail art, Tupperware and others. Yesterday evening held the final Meet the Candidate session for this local election. Four council seats and four school board seats are up for election. All school board candidates were present except for Norm Boots. Less than half of the council candidates were present for the meeting. “Toys for Tots” Collection Spot at Senator Vogel’s Office

State Senator Elder Vogel, Jr.’s office will be collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program through December 15th.
