Riverside & Ellwood Students Lead Mock Trial Boot Camp

On Wednesday, December 7th, Wilmington Area School District hosted a Mock Trial Boot Camp led by students from Riverside Beaver County and Lincoln High School. Over 30 high school students from the three schools participated in the training. Following a brief introduction that outlined the difference between civil and criminal cases as well as proper court protocol, participants rotated among five stations to learn elements of Mock Trial. The elements included Opening Statement, Direct Examination, Cross Examination, Closing Argument, Objections and Improper Questioning. The Ellwood City Area School District Hall of Fame Committee is unveiling a new Hall of Fame to celebrate the professional achievements and athletic accomplishments of Lincoln Jr/Sr High School alumni. The Hall of Fame Committee was established this year with the mission to honor and recognize those individuals and teams associated with Lincoln High School who have experienced significant accomplishments in their chosen sport and/or field. LHS Standout Softball Player, Aliya Garroway Commits to Saint Francis University

Lincoln High School Senior Aliya Garroway verbally committed to Saint Francis University of the NEC last Thursday. She will sign her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, November 9th at Lincoln High School. SFU, located in Loretto Pa, is coached by Jessica O’Donnell. The team has won 5 consecutive NEC titles and participated in the NCAA tournament over that same span. The University is a tremendous academic institution and is also one of the top 50 Division 1 softball programs in the country. Lincoln High School To Offer European Trip In Summer 2024

Lincoln High School is planning an educational European tour for the summer of 2024. Students will experience Paris, Provence, and Barcelona, Spain, over a 10 day trip according to Jason Bell, Spanish Teacher at Lincoln. The trip is open to all students who are currently enrolled in 9th through 12th grade. Bell and Mrs. Mandy Long will chaperon the trip coordinated with EF Tours, the district educational travel partner. Last week, representatives from ELLWOOD visited with students throughout Lawrence County to celebrate Manufacturing Week, a lead-up to National Manufacturing Day celebrated Friday, October 7, 2022. ELLWOOD joined with the Lawrence County School to Work to coordinate the effort of reaching each high school in the county over the four-day period. Congratulations to the Lincoln High School 2022 Homecoming Court! The King will be crowned at a school wide pep rally on Friday, October 14th, and the Queen will be crowned that evening at halftime of the football game versus the Beaver Falls Tigers.
