Two Lincoln High Graduates Receive Monetary Awards

Alex Joseph Fotia, Patricia Bernice McMillin and Hannah E. Froce are the 2019 Lincoln High School graduates who received monetary awards from the Lincoln High School Class of 1957. Alex was given the $5,000 award, Patricia won a $2,500 award and Hannah received $500 for writing the best essay. Their names were announced by James Meehan, ’57 class president, during Lincoln’s annual senior class recognition assembly. The three will be recognized at the ’57 class reunion luncheon in July. The Class of 2019 has graduated! 117 Lincoln High School seniors as well as an additional 38 students from Lawrence County Vo-Tech received diplomas as part of the ceremonies at the Leslie H. Sabo Memorial Auditorium Thursday evening. Nine students graduated with high honors: Katherine Bowser, Alex Fotia, Chloe Kuffer, Patricia McMillin, Caden Myers, Kaitlyn Navolio, Madeline Spadafore, and Reece Wilson. Wolves Club 2019 Scholarships Presented to Lincoln and Riverside Students

NORTH SEWICKLEY TWP – At their annual scholarship dinner on May 22, at the Connoquenessing Country Club, the Wolves Club Den II members, gathered to celebrate the awarding of $15,740 in scholarships to a total of ten Lincoln and Riverside seniors to help fund their college education. 75th Anniversary Of Choral Music Concert Planned At Lincoln High School

The Lincoln High School Choral Department will be presenting our spring concert next Friday night, May 10th. “We are very proud to be celebrating this amazing milestone with two special concerts on May 10th and May 11th,” said Senior High Choral Director Felecia Greco. “This is an event not to be missed!” The concert will begin at 7:00 pm and feature seven different choirs with students in grades 5-12. The 2019 Lincoln High School Prom “A World of Adventure” will take place on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Seven Oaks CC, in Beaver Pa followed by the traditional Ellwood City After Prom in Ellwood City. Doors to the Leslie Szabo Memorial Auditorium will open at 5:00 and the annual Lincoln High School promenade will begin at 5:30. Lincoln Girls Basketball Team Earns A Commendation

Council President Judith Dici presented a Commendation to the Lincoln High School girl’s basketball team for their successful season and trip to the playoffs. Pictured left to right: Assistant coach Paul Hervatine, seniors Natalia Greco and Isabella Roth, assistant coach Vanessa Venezie, Council President Judith Dici, Councilwoman Marilyn Mancini and assistant Principal John Sovich. The Lady Wolverines, under the direction of first-year head coach Marc Heil (not pictured), earned a playoff birth after a 13-10 regular season.  The team fell in the Class-3A playoffs to Carlynton in February.

Normally when the Panthers and the Wolverines are in one gym you can cut the tension with a knife, however not last week. On Friday, both schools came together in honor of the late Kaitlyn “Kait” Francis who had passed away January 28. Francis was an Ellwood City senior who lost her battle with cancer after being diagnosed back in elementary school. Ellwood City School Board January Meeting Brief

On Thursday, January 10, the Ellwood City Area School District Board of Directors held their monthly board meeting in the Board Room at Lincoln High School. Motions were passed, and many things we discussed that could impact the students as well as their families.  In addition to the approved motions, the discussion of making the board of security permanent was largely discussed after multiple visitors spoke on the matter. Ellwood City School District Choir Performs At Community Plaza

On Wednesday, the Ellwood City Area School District Concert Choir gathered and sang Christmas carols at the Community Plaza. The brief concert began approximately 10:30am and was under the direction of Senior High Choral Director, Felicia Greco. This past Sunday the music department held its Annual Christmas Gift Concert at Lincoln High School. More than 250 students will be performing in this concert.
