Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed April 4, 2024 as Joseph Connor Roth day in the Borough of Ellwood City. Roth was recognized as being the all-time leading scorer in Ellwood City Boys’ Basketball with 2,109 points in his career. He was a four year starter and helped Ellwood City win the WPIAL Class-3A title in the 2020-21 season. His point total placed him 5th overall in Lawrence County all-time scoring and in the top 30 All-time in the WPIAL. Junior Joseph Roth scored a season high 42 points Friday night as the Wolverines routed Freedom 73-39 at Lincoln High School. The big man help propel Ellwood City to an early 18-10 lead with eleven first quarter points. Roth Hits 1,000 Point Milestone, Wolverines Defeat Western Beaver

Joseph Roth joined rarefied air Thursday night. The 6-foot-6, 195-pound big man poured in 25 points, cresting a 1,000 career point milestone, in the Wolverines 56-45 victory over Western Beaver.
