Girl Scout Troop 28845 Fills New Outdoor Food Pantry

The Brownies of Girl Scout Troop 28845 worked on part of a badge, called Take Action on Wednesday, May 1st and filled a new outdoor food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church. The requirements of the troop badge is to give back to the community. The troop decided to make an outdoor food pantry with the help of Mark DiFrischia and SCS Designs. Mayor Court Speaks With Ellwood City Girl Scouts

Mayor Anthony J. Court spoke to the Girl Scouts of Ellwood City, PA on December 8, 2021. Mayor Court spoke on the history of Ellwood City and his duties as Mayor of the city. The children followed with a question and answer period to the mayor. At the conclusion of the evening Mayor Court presented all of the girl scouts with water bottles from the Ellwood City Police Department. “It was very enjoyable and a lot of fun for all,” said Mayor Court in a statement. EC Historical Society: March Is National Girl Scout Mounth

The March meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society was called to order and WWII veteran Guy Prestia led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes of the February meeting were read by Secretary Lois Liebendorfer, and the Treasurer’s report was given by Charles Brown. In the absence of Andy Kindle, Ways and Means Chairman, the group was informed that the Board has agreed to have a PeWee’s replica set up in the meeting room during this year’s Ellwood City’s Fall Fest in September.  Plans are to have hot dogs, chili and chocolate milk, PeWee’s basic menu.
