Flood Help May Be Available For Franklin Township Residents

According to information made available by Franklin Township this week, residents may have help in recovering from the recent bouts of heavy rains and flooding that hit the area late last month. If you had first-floor damage to your house regarding the recent flash flood, please contact the township secretary, Shannon Schlosser, at twpsecretary@zoominternet.net to get a survey to fill out. The township has to collect a damage assessment report to submit to the County. Franklin Township Clean-Up Day Announced

Franklin Township residents are invited to participate and clean up a yard, home, or garage with a township clean-up day planned for Saturday, May 4, 2019. The event will begin at 8:00am and last until 2:00pm for township residents.  Residents can drop off trash at the Franklin Township Building located on Route 288 in Fombell. This cleanup event is for township residents only, with two (2) passes allowed per household. A pass is good for one load. LED Billboard Being Constructed In Franklin Township

What is going on in Franklin Township? At the corner of Route-288 and Mercer Road, large steel poles are being erected with all ‘signs’ indicating a large, two-sided LED Billboard will occupy the corner according to information made available to EllwoodCity.org According to Franklin Township, America First Enterprises LLP has purchased the property located at 1766 Mercer Road in the Commercial Zoning District and, after receiving PENNDOT approval, plans to erect a ’10’x30′ Vee LED 2 Face Billboard Unit’. Franklin Township Tar & Chipping Schedule for Week of September 3

Franklin township has announced their tar and chipping schedule for the week of September 3.  PennDOT uses the tar and chip process, also known as seal coat, to help preserve the surfaces of rural and other low-volume roads in between paving. According to a social media post made by Franklin Township on Twitter, around 20 roads will be worked on during the week of September 3. Over 37 million people in 16,124 communities celebrate America’s National Night Out against crime. National Night Out,  began in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. National Night Outs are held on the first Tuesday of August. Franklin Township held their 6th Annual Community Day National Night Out Event on, August 7.
