Defense wins championships. It’s the famous phrase by many in football. Both teams on the field friday night proved worthy of winning based upon defensive play; however, only one team may prevail. Riverside and Lincoln Football Tickets for Sale

Student tickets for Riverside High School’s home game Friday will only be available from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. daily this week at the district athletic office. No sales will occur during lunch. Student tickets are $2, but are not available at the gate before the game. Tickets at the gate are $5. Ellwood City vs. Hopewell tickets are being pre-sold at the high school, no student tickets will be sold at the gate. Student tickets are $3 and adults are $5.

Ellwood City’s very own radio station, WXED, will now be airing the Wolverine’s home games live, hosted by their resident on-air personality, Troy Robert. First Game of Season: Wolverines Vs. Central Valley

The Ellwood City Wolverines football team will be challenged by Central Valley this Friday during their first official match of the season. The game will be played at Helling Stadium and presale tickets are now being sold. Tickets can be purchased at the high school’s main office today, Thursday 8/31, from 7:30 am – 3:00 pm and tomorrow, Friday 9/1, from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. The cost of the tickets are as follows: Students $1.00 Adults $4.00 No student tickets will be sold at the gate on Friday all tickets will be $5.00.

Along with the general yearly updates to the schedule and roster, the official Ellwood City Wolverines website is expecting to make further changes for this upcoming season, with the biggest alteration being the addition of high-definition live streaming for both home and away games. Lincoln High Varsity Football Announcement

Any boy entering grades 9 through 12 this fall is reminded that football practices begin on August 7, 2017 at Hellings Stadium at 1:30 pm. Prior to attending this practice student/athletes are required to complete a PIAA physical exam. The physical exam paperwork can be picked up at the high school office from 8 am. to 2 pm. Monday through Friday. No student can participate without a physical exam. Equipment will be issued to players on August 2, 2017 at 6:30 pm. at Helling Stadium.



Ellwood City Police Not Securing Home Game Tonight

It was mentioned in a previous post that Ellwood City School District is forced to hire private security instead of having Ellwood City Police securing the home games like they have been doing for years. The issue stems from the borough being unable to comply with the schools security needs at this time, mainly due to an ongoing uncertainty regarding how many officers they would need to hire per game.
