Ellwood Area Egg hunt Committee will be holding their 22nd community Easter Egg hunt this coming Saturday April 8th.Rain or shine.In Ewing Park for children ages 9 & under starting at 11:00 a.m. The 4 and under hunts will start at 11 and run through the days events. They will take place in the new toddlers playground. Only 4 and under can get their treats in this area. All You Can Eat Breakfast Event

If you’ve missed their last two all-you-can-eat breakfast events, you can still partake in the remaining two! Join the Masonic Hall Association for breakfast at Ellwood Lodge #599, 512 Crescent Avenue, Ellwood City, PA 16117 on April 15 and May 20.  From 8a.m. to 11:30a.m. breakfasts will be held at the Ellwood Lodge Building on the 1st Floor. The cost is $7.00 for adults and $3.50 for children (up age 10) for all you can eat scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, pancakes, toast, orange juice and coffee. Proceeds benefit the Masonic Hall Association and other community projects.


McConnells Mill Heritage Festival Sept. 24 and 25

History comes alive at the 24th Annual Heritage Festival at McConnells Mill State Park on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Festival, sponsored by the Portersville-Prospect Rotary, celebrates the operational time period of the historical gristmill—from 1852 to 1928. Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle to Benefit Brooke Moffat

On July 13th, 2016, 10 year old Brooke Moffatt was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Brooke’s parents, Darren and Lynn, are asking the community to support Brooke by attending Brooke’s Benefit Dinner hosted at the Wurtemburg-Perry Volunteer Fire Department on September 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m, and by entering the “Fiesta” Raffle. Inside the Making of Bigfoot the Movie with Creator Jared Show

When Jared Show traveled to Ellwood City to film Bigfoot the Movie, he had no idea that his hometown would be so accommodating. “I was amazed at how supportive and helpful everyone was,” Show said. Show grew up in the Ellwood City Area and attended Riverside School District. His grandfather used to tell Bigfoot stories.
