Ellwood City PD Thank Veterinary Office for Money Raised

The Ellwood City Police Department released the following thank you to the Ellwood City Veterinary Practice for their help to raise money for canine officer Ranger: A big thank-you to Dr. Cindi Maro and Dr. Daniel Jones for raising funds for the purchase of a GPS tracking device for Ellwood City Police K9,  Ranger. The raising of funds were held in conjunction with the EC Fall Festival. Dr. Maro opened the Ellwood City  Animal Hospital 30 years ago, September 26, 1987. Father Charged with Child Endangerment After Incident Involving Marijuana

A 21-year-old father is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children, along with a charge of a DUI, possession of controlled substance and possession of an offensive weapon after an incident that occurred on July 22. According to the criminal complaint, an Ellwood City police officer was patrolling the Ewing Park area after it was closed for the night, noticing a vehicle traveling towards the back of the park near the gates that were already secured. Ellwood Woman Hired to Help Around House Suspected of Stealing Medication

Adriana Michelle Contreras, 33, of Ellwood City is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after an incident on July 20. According to the criminal complaint, an Ellwood City resident called to report a suspected theft. The victim stated his wife had a condition for which they had personally hired a Contreras to help around the house. The victim stated he suspected Contreras was stealing pills from his Adderall prescription and that since the prior week he had noticed several of the pills missing. Criminal Mischief Leaves Several Cars Damaged on Park Ave.

The Ellwood City Police Department warns of criminal mischief complaints they have been receiving lately. Over a half dozen residents on Park Avenue have reported damage to their cars during the night of 6/6 into the early morning hours of 6/7. Cars parked along the avenue, including a 2017 Chevy Traverse, 2015 Ford Escape, 2014 Dodge Journey, 2014 Chevy Cruze, and several others parked along the avenue, were scratched/keyed with a sharp object causing a variation of damages on each car. Bernstine, Court Agree to Send Information to District Attorney Office

ELLWOOD CITY – In response to parking tickets that were issued at a legislative press conference on Thursday, May 11, state Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-New Beaver) and Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court have jointly agreed to send documentation of the event to the Lawrence County District Attorney office, Bernstine announced today. Local Girl Brings Gifts to Ellwood City Police Officers

Samantha Davis brought gift bags to EC Police Department on Wednesday afternoon. Davis brought a gift bags for each officer from the Holy Redeemer Elementary School, where she attends. Samantha is part of a program initiated by Holy Redeemer school students who pray for local first responders as part of their everyday prayers. The officers show their appreciation by attended functions at the school for each class grade who adopted an officer.
