The April 10, 2023 meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Meeting was called to order at 7:00PM by Bob Morabito, President, reminding those present of the mission of the Society. He then asked WWII Veteran Guy Prestia to lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Morabito announced that Guy will celebrate his 101st birthday on Tuesday, April 25! The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will hold their monthly meeting Monday, March 13th at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the History Center at 310 Fifth Street, Ellwood City, PA. The guest speaker for the evening will be Vaughn Hudspath. Vaughn has been an educator in the field of history, geography and social education at the Riverside Beaver County School District for over thirty years. In addition to teaching at Riverside, he is the varsity tennis coach and serves as the executive producer of the Riverside musical program. Vaughn is a major proponent for the performing arts…

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society started their 2022-2023 season with a dinner meeting at the Connoquennesing Country Club on Monday, September 12th. President Everett Bleakney welcomed all in attendance, and reminded them of the Society’s mission to Collect, Protect, Preserve and make the History of the Ellwood City Area available to all. He then introduced Guy Prestia, a WWII veteran, and asked him to lead the group in the Pledge to the American Flag. Charles Brown then gave the invocation preceding the evening dinner.
