Ellwood City Forge Electrical Explosion Sends Two Workers To Hospital

According to multiple news outlets, an electrical explosion at the Ellwood City Forge facility on Sunday sent a Beaver man to a trauma center. James Poduhavac, 46, of Beaver, was flown to the hospital and another was taken for evaluation following the explosion in Ellwood City on Sunday. Reports relate that Poduhavac sustained severe burns as a result of the incident. ELLWOOD, in partnership with Lawrence County School-to-Work, hosted their 19th annual High School Engineering Day on Thursday, March 6, at ELLWOOD’s New Castle campus. Over 30 students from area high schools visited the ELLWOOD location to learn about engineering careers, tour the New Castle campus, and more. Ellwood City, PA – ELLWOOD City Forge last night experienced an act of violence perpetrated by an intruder that resulted in the death of a team member. All other team members are safe and the facility was secured last night. The facility will remain closed through the weekend. $954K Grant Enables Start-up of Lawrence Mercer Manufacturing Workforce Development Organization

YOUNGSTOWN – The Ohio-Penn Interstate Regional Collaboration received a $954,708 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor in September, which will be used in large part to build out a workforce development coalition serving Lawrence and Mercer County manufacturers.
