Ellwood City Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 approving a budget payment plan for utility accounts under the following provisions: Customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April. The first budget-billing amount will appear on the May utility bill. The maximum budget periods will be twelve (12) months with all balances due to be settled in the 12th month. Borough Announces Yard Waste Collection Schedule

City residents are well into the new trash removal system. Ellwood City Borough Council awarded the bid for collection of refuse, recycling, and yard waste to Valley Waste during an April 19 meeting, with that contract came added opportunities to get rid of yard waste. Borough Yard Waste Pickup Schedule Change

The Borough of Ellwood City has advised its residents that the borough yard waste pickup scheduled for the week of October 28th has been moved to the week of December 9th. However, the remaining pickups remain the same. The remaining weeks are October 14, November 11 and 25, and now December 9. According to the borough website, green borough yard waste bins are available for residents to dispose of their simple yard waste. Less than half of the running candidates attended yesterday evening’s Meet the Candidate Night, hosted by the Ellwood City Kitchen Cabinet. Four candidates, three of which are current members of council running for reelection, attended the public event. Democratic incumbent, Michele Lamenza, and newcomer, Caleb Cragle attended – their challengers, former councilman James Barry, and newcomers Bryan Vincent and John Pansera were not present.
