REMINDER: Next Borough Yard Waste Pick-Up May 17

According to information made available by the Borough, the next scheduled yard waste pick-up for Ellwood City residents will be the week of May 17, 2021. The borough’s new contract with Valley Waste starts June 1, 2021 that introduces a bi-weekly yard waste pick up schedule. The full schedule will be provided in the near future. Ellwood City Council held their regular monthly agenda meeting on November 13. All council members were present at the meeting except Mayor, Anthony J. Court due to a prior engagement. Council to Hold Special Meeting Tonight

Tonight at 5:15p.m. at the Ellwood City Municipal Building, council will be holding a special meeting to discuss the outcome of the public works and electric buildings. Council will be discussing the possibility of deadline extensions for bidding on the construction of the public works building and to entirely revoke the plan to create a new facility for the electric department. Ellwood City Social Service Organization Asks for Extra $1,000 Donation by Borough

The Holy Redeemer Ministerial Social Service Organization is asking council to approve a donation for their Energy Fund in the amount of $4,000 – $1,000 more than the original requested amount, paid for by the Borough’s general fund. A Letter From the Borough: Political Signs on Borough Property

No candidate for political office, whether local, county, state or federal, shall post any political signs on Borough property without registering at the Municipal Building, 525 Lawrence Avenue, Ellwood City PA 16117. The registration procedure involves a $50 deposit, which will be returned if the following regulations are complied with: no sign shall be placed prior to four weeks before the date of election and must be removed within five days after the election.
