$5K Raised by BC3, Community To Provide Free Holiday Meals

(Butler, PA) A Butler County Community College campaign to which employees, students and community members contributed $5,145 in September will provide free holiday meals to BC3 Pioneer Pantry patrons and in boxes decorated with paper hearts painted by 3- to 5-year-olds. Nearly 60 people during a week of charitable giving administered by the BC3 Education Foundation helped the college to raise funds to create Thanksgiving and December holiday meals for BC3 community members experiencing food insecurity. On her final pass in her last home game, All-American Morgan Jack set up the kill Saturday that sent the No. 1-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball team to a district championship tournament in North Carolina and the setter to the top of BC3’s career list in assists. Lincoln High School graduate Breanna Reisinger is helping lead a Butler County Community College volleyball team that enters the second half of its 2022 regular season this week upholding the highest national ranking the program has had in its history. Dr. Nick Neupauer, an Ellwood City native and the longest-serving chief executive officer in the 57-year history of Butler County Community College, will receive on Wednesday an inaugural leadership award named after a longtime Lawrence County resident. Ellwood City graduate Breanna Reisinger headlines a group of decorates starters returning to the The Butler County Community College volleyball squad this fall. Two All-Americans, a middle hitter selected to a national championship all-tournament team, and three other starters who as first-year players in 2021 led the Pioneers to a 12th consecutive winning season and a sixth-place national finish. BC3 To Introduce Three STEM Programs This Fall

Butler County Community College’s three new programs this fall are within its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics division and include two intended to lead to a doctor of pharmacy degree from Duquesne University. Expanded Duquesne University-track programs in biological science and in chemistry will join existing BC3 transfer programs in biological science and in chemistry and bring BC3’s associate degree selections in STEM in the 2022-2023 academic year to 15. Butler County Community College is proud to announce the names of students who have made the President’s List and Dean’s List for the Spring 2022 semester, as well as the names of those who have graduated recently. Lawrence County Students New Members Of BC3 Academic Honor Society

Seven Butler County Community College (BC3) students from Lawrence County, including three Ellwood City residents, are among 79 new members of BC3’s chapter of an international academic honor society. New members of Rho Phi, the college’s 54-year-old chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5. Students who have completed at least 12 credit hours toward an associate degree or six credit hours toward a one-year certificate and who meet academic requirements are eligible for membership in Rho Phi.
