ARISE Kicks Off Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Mayor Anthony J. Court and Sgt. Michael McBride helped Jessica Mudger, Outreach Specialist for ARISE get the month long awareness program started in the borough. Lawrence County ARISE placed purple bows and signs throughout the Ellwood City downtown area in observance of the cause. The Ellwood City Police Department will also be wearing purple ribbon pins on their uniforms throughout the month. Mayor Anthony Court and Borough Council President, George Celli hosted members of Lawrence County ARISE to help kick off October as Domestic Violence Month as part of the “Our Community’s Response to Violence” campaign. Yard signs, bows and purple light bulbs will once again be available at the agency, as well as distributed throughout the community. Arise will be placing bows and yard signs around Lawrence County.
