Mrs. Evelyn “Jean” Lintz, 85, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2020 surrounded by her family. Jean was born on June 14, 1935 in Chippewa Twp., Beaver Falls to the late Lawrence and Myrtle (Joy) Chapman. She attended Beaver Falls High School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. She was employed in the office of the Clyde M. Bartly Company Inc., and at Mario’s Giant Eagle where she was the manager of the Deli and Restaurant departments, and later as a cashier from which she retired at the age of 78. Jean was…


Tickets on Sale For Ellwood City/Riverside Football Game

Adult Tickets for the Ellwood City versus Riverside football game to be played on Friday, October 16th will be sold on Thursday, Oct 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the hallway by the large gymnasium at Lincoln High School. Ticket price is $5.00 and no tickets will be sold at the gate.  According to the district, masks are required and COVID-19 waiver must be signed to enter the stadium.  Social distancing will still be recommended with the limited attendance. Student tickets will be sold on Wednesday and Thursday of this week during school hours in the Principal’s Office….

The 64th annual Lincoln High School Homecoming football game will be played this Friday at 7:00 p.m. when the Wolverines will host the Beaver Falls Tigers. This year, Homecoming festivities will look a little different due to Covid-19. A Homecoming King will be crowned at a ceremony to take place at Helling Stadium at 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Life Changing Gift: A Surprise for Local Man

The look on CJ DeGennaro’s face was priceless. CJ, 31, suffers from cerebral palsy. On August 17, CJ received the gift of a Safe Step walk-in tub, but it was a complete surprise to CJ. CJ had been nominated 110 times during the last two years to receive this tub by his friends, his family, his community. A crowd that worked hard to make this happen gathered in his driveway. Mr. Pasquale S. “Pat” Marinaccio, 92, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home. Mr. Marinaccio was born in Ellwood City on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1926 to the late Dominic “Luigi” and Angela Rosa Marinaccio. Pat was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City. Pat enlisted with the U.S. Army Air Corp on December 27, 1943. After basic training he was switched to the U.S. Army Infantry, and had to go through a second basic training. Bernstine Announces $225,000 in School Safety Grant Awards for Area Schools

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced that $225,000 in funding has been awarded to nine school districts in the 10th Legislative District to help improve student safety through a new grant program established by lawmakers earlier this year.
