Born September 23, 1940 in New Castle, PA, he was raised in Wampum, PA, graduating from Wampum High School in 1958. He received a Congressional appointment as a Midshipman to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY, where he served as Battalion Commander. Born March 24, 1948 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Blaine N. and Nancy Markle Houk. He was married to Nancy Williams Houk. James was retired from Medusa Cement in Wampum, where he worked as a Quarry Superintendent. He served during Vietnam with the Navy. He was Christian by faith and enjoyed woodworking. Nancy L. Vivo, 72, passed away peacefully at home July 23, 2022 with her family by her side. Nancy was born on May 15, 1950 in Ellwood City, Pa, the daughter to Larry and Theresa (Macri) Nash. She worked at Vivo Iron and Metal where she met her husband, Jim. She also worked at Mahoning Bank and later in Home Healthcare, after raising her children.
