Eugene “Gene” Ierace, 88

Eugene “Gene” Ierace, 88, of Whispering Oaks, Hermitage, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born on January 4, 1930 in Ellwood City, Gene was the son of the late Dominic and Bertha Florio Ierace.  He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Joyce Fosnaught, whom he married on September 15, 1956.  Gene retired from Air Products and Chemicals where he was a plant supervisor.  A Veteran of the US Army, Gene served in Korea from 1951 to 1953.  He enjoyed fishing, music, home remodeling projects and spending time with his family. Albert W. Poholsky, 96, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 7 2018 at his home. He was born in Sagamore PA,    on  November 29 1921, to the late Stephen  and Anna Gaborack  Poholsky. Al graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City,  and Geneva College with a B.S. in accounting. Ralph W. “Red” Mohr, 88, of Chewton passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital. Born July 1, 1929 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Orrie and Reine Snare Mohr. Ralph was married for 63 years to Agnes “Tootsie” Vansovich Mohr who survives. Red graduated from Wampum High School. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Higby and Bryce during the Korean War. Robert M. Crawford, 89, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in the comfort of his home, with family at his side. Born July 5, 1928 in Karns City, PA, Bob was the son of the late Melvin S. and Clara E. Waddington Crawford. He was married for 61 years to Helen Paul Crawford who survives. Carol  L.  Reeder Kotuby, 70, of Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family,  on Friday evening, January  5, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice  in Butler. She was born in Beaver Falls  on   August 30 1947, to the late Ralph and Barbetta “Betty” Seelhorst Reeder. Maudress “Maudie” Anna Boots, 85, formerly of Portersville passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Northview Estates. Born November 6, 1932 in Portersville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Kennedy Frazier. Maudie worked at the Butler Hospital for 20 years in the Anesthesia Department. Codie Renee Lovitt, nee Gasser, 35, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 following neurological complications ultimately causing heart failure. Codie was born June 10, 1982 at the Beaver Valley Medical Center, the daughter of Charlene Sypolt and the late William Ray Gasser, Jr. She attended Beaver Falls Area Schools and Blackhawk Schools graduating in 2000 and also graduated from Everest University with a degree in criminal justice.
