Mrs. Norma Michels, 88, of Slippery Rock Twp. passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Mrs. Michels was born on November 7, 1929 in New Castle to the late Roy K. and Florence Jones Shaffer. She had graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1948. Norma worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Farmer Supply in New Castle, and later at New Castle Auto Parts. She is a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, and a member of Challenges. Mrs. LaCava was born on September 22, 1926 in Wampum to the late Keith and Martha Boone Hazen, Sr.. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1944, and the Providence Baptist Church. Formerly of Ellwood City Dennis Patrick D’Angelo, age 44, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Born July 20, 1973, in Warren, Pa., he was the son of Sharyn (Oscar) Bastiani and Richard (Nancy) D’Angelo. Maudress “Maudie” Anna Boots, 85, formerly of Portersville passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Northview Estates. Born November 6, 1932 in Portersville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Kennedy Frazier. Maudie worked at the Butler Hospital for 20 years in the Anesthesia Department. She was an active and devoted member of the First Church of God where she served as their treasurer for many years. Maudie cherished time spent with her family. Family and Church were her life.
