John A. Folino, 90, of Ellwood City, passed away in his residence on the morning of Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Born in Ellwood City on January 9, 1928 to the late Frederico and Angelina Rizzo Folino, John graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945.  He worked as a Junior Commando at US Steel before leaving to join the 82nd Airborne during WWII.  While serving in the Army, John was both an MP and a paratrooper.  He graduated from Geneva College in 1953 and later attended Bucknell University.  He also worked as a surveyor for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.  John married the…

Betty was born on December 3, 1936 to the late Bernard Leroy Brown and the late Frances Marie Brown. Betty graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955 and in 1980 continued her education at Butler County Community College for Insurance Licensing. She worked as an advertising executive at the WKST-WFEM radio station, as an auto sales manager for Cranberry Lincoln Mercury, and as a District Secretary for Sherwin Williams before retiring. Lois M. Bennett, 79, of Fombell passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Cranberry Place in Cranberry Twp.. Lois was born on October 6, 1938 in Ellwood City to the late Frances and Margaret (Daufen) Smith. She had graduated from the Zelienople High School with the class of 1957. Lois had worked at the Lark Motel for 18 years as a custodian. She is a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ellwood City. Stephenie A. Freed, 51, of Fredonia passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital following a short illness. Born October 4, 1966 in Franklin, PA,  she was the daughter of Stephen J. and Anna Mae Cook Rogers. She was married to David Freed, he survives. Stephenie was a member of the Western PA Dairy Goat Association. A published author, she wrote two books, “When Buddy Sings” and “Lady in the Lane.” Her most cherished time was spent with her children and family. Frank D. Martz, 62, of Rhode Island Ave, Ellwood City passed away Friday, June  1, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born January 26, 1956 in Hamburg, NY, he was the son of Thomas L.   Louise Helen Welsh, 81, of the Haven Convalescent Home, New Castle,  formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully at the Haven on  Sunday morning,  June 3, 2018. She was born in New Brighton PA on May 24 1937 to the late Lewis H. and Ida Knight Welsh. She graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1957.  She worked for many years as a companion and aide to many elderly people. Patricia Jean Maybray,74, of Ellwood City died peacefully in her sleep at Good Samaritan Hospice surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 28, 2018 after a courageous, 4-year battle with cancer. Lois M. Jameson, 90, formerly of New Castle passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Illinois. Born April 30, 1928 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Doelbor and Nora Hays Reno.
