James A. Shablesky, 55, of Ellwood City, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 24, 2020. Born in Ellwood City on May 29, 1964, James was the son of the late Joseph J. and Shirley M. Scheidemantle Shablesky.  James was the owner and operator of JAS Manufacturing.  He was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and the Ellwood City Masonic Lodge #599.  James enjoyed cooking and entertaining family, friends and clients.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. David L. Cory, 73, of Wampum passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a brief illness. Born October 24, 1946 at home in Wampum, he was the son of the late John and Alyce (Allen) Cory. David was a graduate of Mohawk High School. He worked as a Water Treatment Operator at the former Republic and LTV Steel Companies in Beaver Falls. He was a member of the Ellwood City Eagles Club. Kathleen “Kathy” Smiley, 78

Kathleen “Kathy” Smiley, 78, of Frisco, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2020. Born in Beaver Falls, PA on June 14, 1941, Kathy was the daughter of the late Robert and Nelly McClure Boyd.  She was married to Robert Charles Smiley on March 25, 1961 and they enjoyed 58 years together.  Kathy worked at Christy’s Restaurant, Fisher’s Big Wheel, Hessler’s Bus Garage as a bus driver, Ellwood City Hospital cafeteria and retired from the hospital business office. Christine Marie (Vith) Kalac, 63, formally of McKees Rocks, PA passed away peacefully on May 21st 2020 at home in Darlington, PA. Born May 27th 1956, in McKees Rocks, PA. She joined the US Navy in 1979 and served as one of the first female crew members aboard a US Navy ship the USS Point Loma (AGDS-2). After leaving the navy to start a family she moved to Washington state and opened a very successful pet store. Cynthia Aquino Nordi, of Franklin Park, Pa passed away on May 16, 2020 of complications from pancreatic cancer. She was born in Pittsburgh to Alfred D. and E. Joan (Snyder) Aquino on August 13, 1952. She grew up in Beaver Falls and attended Beaver Falls High School where she was a majorette. She performed with the band at a televised New York Jets game featuring quarterback Joe Namath, a Beaver Falls High School alumni, in 1969. John “Jack” Turner, 58, of Worth Township, passed away at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Born in Pittsburgh on March 28, 1962, Jack was the son the former Beatrice M. Shema of Worth Township and the late Paul H. Turner.  A lifelong volunteer, Jack was a former Lieutenant with the Bridgeville Fire Department in Bridgeville, PA and also a former member of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department Reserves. Betty J. Ippolito, 95, of Wampum passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Quality Life Services in New Castle. Born June 24, 1924 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Garnet (Lewis) Powell . She was married to Jacob A. Ippolito for 71 years when he died June 2, 2014. Domenick William (Billy) DeCampli, 70, of Zelienople passed away  May 9, 2020 following a brief illness.  Named after his two grandfathers, Dominic DeCampli and William Steffler “Billy” as he became known, was born in Ellwood City, Pa on March 21, 1950 to the late Nick and Laureen (Klear) DeCampli.  Billy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968.  He was well known for his talented guitar playing, elaborate storytelling and recording talent.  He was an avid deer hunter.   Billy enjoyed entertaining people with his guitar playing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Betty Jane Jinar, 90

Mrs. Betty Jane Jinar, 90, from Ellwood City passed away peacefully to be with her husband and Jesus on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Haven Nursing Home. She was born on March 22, 1930 to the late Martha (Cholak) Yacko and Andrew Yacko. She was married to John Jinar, Sr. for 59 years when he passed away on June 2, 2007.
