Karan Marie “B-Bo” Sokol, 48, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Butler Memorial Hospital. Karan was born on May 8, 1972 in Detroit, MI to Jean (Cavallaro) Sokol. After moving to Ellwood City she became a member of the St. Elias Romanian Church. For many years she was tutored by the Walmo School which is located in New Castle. Marjorie M. Buchanan, 94, of Wampum passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Avalon Place following an extended illness. Born February 21, 1926 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John N. and Verna Fairbanks Knight. She was married to the late Wendell J. Buchanan who passed on October 9, 1970. Marjorie was a an active member of First Assembly of God Church in New Castle. She retired from K-Mart after 30 years of service as a cashier. Judy L. McDowell, 74, of Ellwood City passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her residence. Death was unexpected. Born March 9, 1946 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Ken and Dorothy Parker McDowell. Judy was a project manager for Lockheed Martin in California for over 20 years. Born June 2, 1939 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John and Alferetta “Freddie” Aloe Matus. Jerry was the owner and operator of Matus Service Center and Auto Sales in Wampum.
