Easter Sunday Shooter Suspected in Western Pennsylvania

UPDATED: 4/18 at 10a.m. A manhunt has been warranted in several states after suspect, Steve Stephens, shot and killed an elderly man midday Easter Sunday and uploaded the killing to his Facebook page. According to reports, Stephens, 37, of Cleveland Ohio, fatally shot random passerby 74-year-old Robert Godwin in a residential area east of Cleveland, uploaded footage of the shooting to his Facebook, and fled the scene. Lawrence County Man Facing 50 Counts of Sexual Abuse of Children

Jay W. Flagg, 60, of 319 S. Croton Ave., New Castle, is facing 50 felony counts of sexual abuse of children, one felony count of dissemination of photographs, videotapes, computer depictions, and films, and one felony count of criminal use of communication facility proceeding an incident involving child pornography. According to the criminal complaint filed 3-24-17, on 2-23-16 Flagg was investigated after the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Computer Crime Unit, forwarded two CyberTip reports indicated that a male suspect in the Lawrence County are had uploaded child pornography to the internet using Google related services in 2015. “The images depict…

Richard “Dick” Streckeisen, 73, of Ellwood City, was honored after his passing Sunday morning. Dick was a faithful and devoted firefighter who was suffering from ALS. “Dick did more for others than he would ever think of doing for himself. He was our 2016 Firefighter of the year and will be greatly missed by the entire community,” a fellow fire fighter stated.

POLICE: Ten Arraigned In Operation ‘Spring Clean Up’

According to information made available this afternoon and after a year long investigation, 10 mid level drug dealers were arraigned by local police in what is being called by Mayor Anthony Court, Operation ‘Spring Clean Up’. Man Flees Police on Foot Through Traffic

Thomas James Myers, 39, of New Castle, will be facing a felony charge of delivery or possession with intent to deliver drug and two misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and prohibited acts, and Troy Lee Gompf, 51, of Ellwood City, will be facing two felony charges of hindering apprehension or prosecution, proceeding an incident that happened on February 24. Two Part-Time Policemen Hired by Borough

During yesterdays council meeting, council voted to pass an exception: at the Regular Meeting of Council held 9/19/16, Council voted to discontinue the shooting range at Stiefel Park, effective 12/31/16, to be in compliance with the Master Park Plan. However, a motion would be in order to make a one-time exception to use the shooting range in Stiefel Park to qualify one of the newly hired part-time officers (Gary Greene, Jr.). Woman Facing Charges of Child Endangerment After Injuring Infant

A resident of Freed’s Trailer Park in New Galilee, 24 year-old Courtney Marie Jeffries, will be facing charges of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children, proceeding an incident that occurred last month involving her three month old daughter. According to the criminal complaint, the daughter of Jeffries was taken to the Ellwood City Hospital with an injury to the child’s right arm. The infant was transferred to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh UPMC and a medical personnel at the facility examined the child and diagnosed her with a fracture on her upper arm.
