Ellwood City Borough Facade Improvement Program Among Seven County Projects Funded By $1.2M Rescue Plan Act

On Wednesday, the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners approved $1,124,305.00 in American Rescue Plan Act funding for seven impactful projects across Lawrence County. “It’s critical that the Board of Commissioners continues to appropriate this funding to community projects which spur economic growth, enhance workforce outcomes, invest in infrastructure projects, and provide better human services outcomes for our county residents,” said Lawrence County Commissioners Chairman Morgan Boyd in a social media post. Lawrence County Announces $800,000 in Paving and Transportation Grants Awarded to 16 Municipalities

Lawrence County Board of Commissioners announced Tuesday that $800,000.00 has been allocated by the county to assist 16 municipalities with 38 paving projects, 3 culvert replacements, 1 stormwater reclamation project, and 5 capital purchases. This investment represents the single largest general appropriation of county transportation funds for municipal transportation projects ever approved by Lawrence County. This funding supplements municipal funding for road repairs and capital purchases and assists with $3,287,143.09 in total countywide transportation investments. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: On January 15th, an unknown actor attempted to make entry into a garage located on Ellwood Road, Slippery Rock Township. Ellwood City Native Debra Todd To Be Formally Installed As Chief Justice on Friday

Ellwood City native and Pennsylvania state Supreme Court Justice Debra Todd will be formally installed as chief justice in a ceremony set for Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Omni William Penn hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. Todd will become the first female chief justice in the 300-year history of Pennsylvania high court. The 1975 Lincoln High School graduate became the chief justice on October 1st, following the September 30th death of former Chief Justice David Max Baer at 74.
