Gerald “Jerry” Kroll Presented With Proclamation

Dr. F. Gerald “Jerry” Kroll was presented with a proclamation by George Celli, President of Ellwood City Borough Council last week. Dr. Kroll was presented the proclamation for all the service he had given to Ellwood City and around the world. Ellwood City Borough Council Approves New Conditions for Dunkin’ Location

Ellwood City Borough Council voted to rescind the request by Fifth and Spring, LLC in regards to a Dunkin’ fast food restaurant at the intersection of Fifth Street and Spring Avenue approved during their May 15, 2023 meeting. At that time, council unanimously approved the 2,060 square foot facility as well as a drive thru contingent on the following conditions: No egress permitted onto Fifth Street from the Dunkin’ parking lot; right hand and left-hand turn from the drive thru lane onto Fifth Street; And moving a curbside pickup spot to the middle of the parking lot. Mayor Anthony J. Court and the Ellwood City Police Department wants to announce that next week throughout the Borough of Ellwood City, Officers of the Ellwood City Police Department will again be conducting speeding enforcement. The department will be using their certified Enrad Laser speed timing device. Citations WILL BE issued for non-compliance. DISORDERLY CONDUCT: David Carter, 43, of Ellwood City is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Terroristic Threats, and Public Drunkenness after an incident on June 4th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 6:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Avenue for a report of a male making threats. Upon arrival, police spoke with one of the victims who related a male, later identified as Carter, came across the street and started making threats. Calls for Entries in Midland Art Show

MIDLAND –Area artists are invited to submit up to three works, framed and ready to hang, to the 17th Midland Arts Council Summer Gallery. Entries are due on June 21 to the juried art show.
