POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

PUBLIC INTOXICATION: Blake Zeigler, 21, of Ellwood City is charged with public intoxication after an incident on September 25th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:46p.m., police were dispatched to 7-11 and advised that a male was loitering outside asking customers to purchase him tobacco in exchange for cocaine. Officers were aware of this incident. Police then located Zeigler, who was riding a bike, and advised him of the complaint to which Zeigler denied. Police then noticed a smell of alcohol emitting from Zeigler and asked him step off the bike. Zeigler refused and reached for his pocket….


Paving Set To Begin On Lawrence Avenue

As part of the ongoing PennDOT SR351 project, construction crews will start base repairs on Lawrence Avenue beginning Wednesday night and continue repairs through Friday night. According to borough manager Kevin Swogger, road work will be done between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Lawrence Avenue is due to expect paving this week. Next week the milling and paving will be starting on 5th Street for two night and then finishing up the Crescent Avenue and 4th Street section. The annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade took place Saturday afternoon along Lawrence Avenue in downtown Ellwood City. Thousands flocked to the sidewalks to watch and collect candy tossed from the many floats and participants in the parade. Milling And Paving Lawrence Avenue To Begin On Monday

As part of the PennDOT SR351 project, Folino Construction will start milling and paving Lawrence Avenue and 5th Street on Monday, October 28, 2024. The topcoat will also be applied to Crescent Avenue in the coming days. Due to this project, parking on Lawrence Avenue and 5th Street will be prohibited for two weeks starting on Monday, October 28, 2024. “I appreciate your cooperation in advance,” says Kevin Swogger, Borough Manager. A roadway improvement project on Route 351 (Crescent Avenue) between Second Street and Fourth Street was completed earlier this summer.
