Community Members Encouraged to Partake in Ellwood City Clean Up Day

On Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 11a.m. – 2p.m., Mayor Anthony J. Court in conjunction with the Jeff Potter Baseball Tour will have an Ellwood City Clean Up Day.  This is a “Community Wide” event and everyone is invited to participate. Those participating will meet at the Ewing Park Pool Parking Lot prior to 11:00 am. After the clean-up, those participating will be at 1:45 p.m. at the Lions Club Shelter, inside Ewing Park. Vests, gloves and bags will be available for the clean-up and drinks and a lite snack will be provided by McDonalds, Johnny’s and Red Hot.

Unrehearsed Shakespeare in March Park

It’s a midsummer’s night dream.  An open air performance of scenes from Shakespeare play will be held in March Park (next to the Library) on Tuesday July 11th 6:30pm. The Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls in partnership with The New Renaissance Theatre Company presents The Unrehearsed Shakespeare Project’s.  Directed by Elizabeth Ruelas and some the actors will be preforming using the unrehearsed cue script technique. BC3 Unveils Courses that Aim to Improve Handgun Safety, Marksmanship

Hira Founder Gives Insight to Plans for Former YDC

While the state attorney general has approved the sale of the property to Hira Educational Services of North America, Asif Kunwar, the founder of the Islamic-based company, has finally shed some light on the plans for the former Youth Development Center in New Castle. Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of July 3, 2017

Gov. Wolf, Boston Terrier Sign Bill for Stricter Animal Cruelty Laws

HARRISBURG – Yesterday Gov. Tom Wolf and a Boston Terrier named Libre, signed the Libre’s Law Bill – strengthening Pennsylvania’s laws and punishments against animal abuse and neglect. Next to Wolf’s signature lies a tiny paw print belonging to a once neglected Boston Terrier, Libre, named by his rescuer meaning “freedom” in Spanish.
