Back to School: Updated Art Studio

The Ellwood City School District students are officially back to school starting today! As with every new school year, things change, usually for the better and the benefit of the students. This year one of the biggest renovations the Ellwood City High School made is an updated art classroom and studio. Portersville Man Charged with DUI After Hitting School Bus

According to the criminal complaint, on August 4 a Pennsylvania State Trooper was dispatched to a two vehicle crash on State Route 488. Upon arrival it was determined Jason Scott Sunday, 41, of Portersville had crossed into oncoming traffic striking a school bus. The officer detected an alcoholic odor emitting from his persons, to which Sunday denied but admitted to being on Suboxone at the time of the crash. Calvin Presbyterian Church Hosting GriefShare Program

No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process, and that’s why Calvin Presbyterian Church hosts GriefShare seminars, a support group to help those grieving. The program will be facilitated by Ginny Brest and the first session is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 from 1:300-3:30 p.m. in the church parlor. The group will meet each Sunday afternoon for 13 weeks, concluding on December 3 . While participants are encouraged to complete the 13-week program if possible, attendance is not mandatory each week. Partial Solar Eclipse Will Be Visible in Ellwood City

The highly anticipated solar eclipse across the nation from the west coast to the east coast of America is happening today, which will be visible at different times throughout regions of the nation. Helling Stadium Fallen Pole Causes Severe Damage

Proceeding a storm with 60mph winds Friday evening, during a delayed football game at Helling Stadium a light pole at the stadium fell, struck two people, and damaged areas of the field and a Noga Ambulance. According to recent reports, 13-year-old Jaidyn Le’Viere, a junior cheerleading coach entering eight grade at Lincoln Junior-Senior High School, sustained injuries including lacerations in her back and a broken hip. Father Charged with Child Endangerment After Incident Involving Marijuana

A 21-year-old father is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children, along with a charge of a DUI, possession of controlled substance and possession of an offensive weapon after an incident that occurred on July 22. According to the criminal complaint, an Ellwood City police officer was patrolling the Ewing Park area after it was closed for the night, noticing a vehicle traveling towards the back of the park near the gates that were already secured.
