A Century In A Box: Ellwood City Area School District Uncovers a 100-Year-Old Time Capsule

Renovation projects typically bring a little dust, a lot of work, and interesting discoveries among the layers. What started as a routine renovation of Ellwood City’s Lincoln High school, turned into a remarkable connection to the past. School Librarian Heidi Feltrop recounted the moment this quest to unveil a cornerstone to find a time capsule from 1925 began. She said in May a biology teacher was boxing up things in her classroom to accommodate the current construction at Lincoln High School and stumbled upon a dictionary that belonged to a teacher in 1930. ECASD Planning For Normal School Day Following Planned Borough Power Outage On Sunday

Richard Hogue Replenishment Blood Drive Scheduled For November 8th

The annual Richard Hogue Memorial Blood Drive has been announced and scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Hogue was only 28 when his life was taken on November 16, 2013. At the time of his death, he resided in Enon Valley, worked for Nick Mars Construction as a carpenter, and was a member of the Ellwood City Eagles Club. Municipal Woman’s Club Hosts Dueling Pianos Fundraiser for Gazebo Project

The Municipal Woman’s Club is hosting an evening of music and fun at their Dueling Pianos Fundraiser to support the maintenance and upkeep of the Ellwood City Gazebo. The event will feature the high-energy entertainment of Piano Fiasco and takes place on Saturday, November 15th, from 7 to 9 PM at the North Sewickley Township Fire Hall located at 887 Mercer Rd., Route 65, in Beaver Falls, PA. ECASD Board of Directors Appoint Financial Professionals to Evaluate Funding for Renovation Project

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted unanimously on Monday night to approve a resolution to appoint professionals to assist in the evaluation of financing for a proposed district renovation project including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical improvements to North Side Primary School and Hartman Intermediate School. Drug Raid At Ellwood City Residence Results In Four Arrests

According to a criminal complaint, a task force raid at a house in Ellwood City results in the arrest of four local individuals and the seizuire of suspected methamphetamine and other suspected narcotics. Ellwood City Mayor Completes Security and Privacy: General Role Training

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court recently completed the Security and Privacy: General Role training and has reported receiving a score of 100%.
