In a post on social media Sunday, the Wampum Area Christmas Parade Committee (WACP) announced the cancellation of their annual Christmas Parade. “After much consideration. The Wampum Area Christmas Parade Committee regrets that we made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Christmas Parade.” The message was announced by Donna Kuiken, long-standing WACP President. “No one is more disappointed than we are to cancel this event. 2020 Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection Date Announced

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2020. The collection will take place at the Bradys Run Park Recycling Center from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. A new fee structure will be in place – $20.00 and covers disposal of up to 10 gallons/50 pounds of the accepted materials. Oversize loads will be subject to additional charges. Ellwood City Public Library To Open By Appointment

The Ellwood City Area Public Library will be open by appointment only starting Tuesday September 29, 2020. Call the library to set up an appointment to browse for books or use a computer. Anything printed must be paid for with exact change or check. We will not be making copies at this time. Newspapers and magazines will not be available. 40,000 boxes. That’s how many shipments have been sent by locally organized Yellow Ribbon Girls. Yellow Ribbon Girls is made up of hundreds of volunteers that work tirelessly all year round to provide our troops with the comforts, treats, and reminders of home. This year, they need your help more than ever. Because of Coronavirus restrictions, nearly all of the group’s fundraisers have been canceled or postponed.
