Ellwood City School Board Suggests $100k Technology Investment

Since technology is almost constantly evolving, schools have continued to incorporate these advancements into curriculum for the benefit of the students. CCBC Appoints Coaches for New Women’s Basketball and Women’s and Men’s Cross Country Teams

Monaca, PA – With the goals of enriching the student life program and recruiting more local student-athletes, Community College of Beaver County has added three new sports that will commence in the 2017-18 academic year: women’s basketball, and women’s and men’s cross country. Two new coaches will join the athletics team and continue the tradition of developing successful student-athletes on and off the court. Suboxone Clinic Opens in Ellwood City

Controversially, a suboxone clinic located on Pershing Street only a few blocks from the hospital has recently opened as an attempt to combat opiate addictions in the area. After the positive results of operating another suboxone clinic at their Bridgeville location, Freedom Healthcare Services was requested to open another clinic for the cause in Ellwood City. Mohawk School District Closed After Testing Positive for E. Coli in Water

According to a news source, all Mohawk district schools are closed today after receiving positive results of the potentially deadly E. Coli bacteria contaminating the water at the districts high school location. The districts elementary school is provided water from a different system and their water remains uncontaminated, however the school is still closed. After the heavy rain we have received in the area over the past few days, it’s not surprising that some water sources have become contaminated, many times due to overflowing sewers.
