Ellwood City Woman Most Senior of BC3’s Largest Class Since 2000

(Butler, PA) An Ellwood City grandmother of three was the most senior of the 596 graduates in Butler County Community College’s Class of 2017. Kathie Potemra, 63, of Park Avenue, earned an associate of applied science degree in office administration-medical from BC3. She attended BC3 at Lawrence Crossing in New Castle, BC3’s main campus and took courses online. Potemra, BC3’s most senior graduate by 327 days, says “you can never get enough education.” The 1972 graduate of Shenango High School also earned an associate degree in information management from Youngstown State University in 1997. Faith Fellowship Baptist Church Seeks Youth for Vacation Bible School

Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, located right besides Domino’s Pizza in Ellport, is currently seeking students for their vacation bible school (VBS) during June 12-14. There is no cost for the VBS and a light snack will be provided Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday there will be a pizza party. Bible study is centered around learning about Jesus Christ while having fun participating in games, making crafts,  and being with other children/teens. For the past six years, Mayor Court has presented to area residents a special “Beautification Award” sign along with a local restaurant gift certificate. This year the first Award went to Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Loraine Buzzelli of Meadowridge Drive. Timothy A. Houk, a senior from Ellwood City, received a $500.00 scholarship courtesy of the Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 committee. RMU, CCBC Sign 13 Transfer Agreements for High-Tech Degree Programs

Pittsburgh, May 22, 2017 – Robert Morris University (RMU) and Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) are expanding their longstanding partnership to provide greater opportunities for Beaver County residents to earn four-year degrees in technology-related fields. The two institutions signed additional articulation agreements today for 13 CCBC associate degree programs that will transfer seamlessly to bachelor’s degree programs at RMU. 6th Graders Participate in Array of Fun Activities at the Park-A-Palooza

The Chamber of Commerce held their annual Ewing Park-A-Palooza May 15 for all 6th graders from Hartman and Riverside. There were ten stations for the students to visit, designed to enhance the learning experience for the students in an alternative setting presented by volunteers. The students participate in several physical activities provided by the staff of Air Fitness that encourages team building and fitness. NORTH SEWICKLEY TWP. –The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II, through their scholarship program, continues to honor the achievements of outstanding Lincoln and Riverside High School seniors by encouraging them to pursue their dreams through higher education.
