Activities for the week of June 11 include the following: Monday, June 11, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. This program is usually held on Wednesdays, but will meet on Monday mornings instead during the summer months. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Ellwood City Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser

Ellwood City Volunteer Fire Department is holding a fundraiser for Capt. Frank Condell and family. In March 2018 the ECFD Capt. Frank Condell suffered a significant brain injury. Fire Chief Rick Myers said, “the injury was a natural occurrence and did not occur at the fire station.” According to the department’s statement, Condell was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove a large blood clot. Frank suffered serious bleeding in his brain and the surgery relieved the pressure and stopped the bleeding. Frank has been making steady improvements. Although, Frank is home he…

Ellwood City Medical Center New Hours

Ellwood City Medical Center has new hours for their outpatient laboratory and diagnostic services. The hours will be for services in the outpatient lab, X-ray and cardioplumonary for patients without an appointment. Ellwood City Summer Playground Program 2018

The Ellwood City Playground Program begins on Monday, June 11. Children must be between the ages of 5-13 and must be Ellwood City Borough residents. A parent or guardian must accompany their child to register them for the program. The bus will NOT be picking children up the first day of the program, June 11, to ensure that parents will come with their child to complete the registration form. PHOTOS: Relay For Life

Many attended the Ellwood City’s “Be A Superhero” Relay for Life  Saturday on Lawrence Avenue. There was a “Chalk the Town” sidewalk art contest The included food, crafts and vendors along with musical entertainment. One Voice, Average Jane, Elvis Vaughn Hudspath, The’m Guys and Nickle Plated Revolver performed throughout the day at the relay. There was also a performance from the young dancers at Diamond Dance Academy. The evening wrapped up with a Luminara Dedication Ceremony, where decorated luminary bags were lit and lined Lawrence Avenue. Below is a gallery of images from the Relay for Life:
