Ellwood City observed National Day of Prayer with a gathering in the Community Plaza on Lawrence Avenue at noon yesterday. “Wake Up America” was the theme. It was the 65th annual National Day of Prayer. Rev. Norina Owens of Women of Faith International Inc. gave the welcome. State Representative Jaret Gibbons, D-10, gave the greeting and pledge. Local Radio Station Open House

Gibbons to Host Long-Term Care and Protection Seminar

BEAVER FALLS – State Rep Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, will be hosting a seminar to inform the public on how to protect people’s financial investments, long-term care and estate planning. The free event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the Beaver Falls Library, 1301 7th Ave. Beaver Falls. Ellwood City Prom 2016 Announces Court for “A Night at Gatsby’s”

The Ellwood City School district has announced the prom court for 2016. This year’s prom will be held on Friday, May 6 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle. This year’s theme is “A Night at Gatsby’s.” This year’s prom queen court is Emily Brown, Alena Costulas, Nikol Damato, Jodi Iddings, Karington Ketterer, Victoria Ketterer, Molly Morales and Sydney Shurtz. Veterans Specialists to Visit Gibbons’ Office Next Week

State Rep. Jaret Gibbons today announced he will host two veterans specialists in his Ellwood City office next week. “I am happy to provide this service so veterans can understand their rights and benefits,” said Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence. Stephanie Bengoa and Ryan Paglia will participate in the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 to lend help to veterans and their families. The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation celebrated opening day of the summer baseball season on Saturday with a parade and festivities in Ewing Park.
