Relay For Life Event Leadership Meeting Wednesday, October 12, 2016 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. It is time again to start planning for the 2017 Ellwood City Relay For Life event.  Our members have been busy working on new ideas for more community involvement, come out and give us your ideas!  We meet at the Wellness Center next to Ewing Park Bridge at 6 pm, don’t shy away because of the meeting length or because you don’t  want to be committed to long term involvement in Relay.  Give us what time you have and be included in how this event comes…


Ellwood City’s Homecoming

Lincoln High School’s Homecoming is going to be this Friday, September 30, at the Wolverines home game. Activities begin around 6:20 and at the end of the first quarter Mr. Lape will distribute the WPIAL softball Championship Rings and at half time the queen will be announced. Tickets for Friday’s homecoming game vs Valley will be on sale in the high school office starting on Wednesday 9-28 until 2:30 Friday 9-30. Presale prices will be $4 for adults and $1 for students. All tickets sold at the gate will be $5.


Ellwood City Art Club Fair

Lincoln High School will be hosting the Ellwood City Art Club Fair on October 8 from 10a.m. to 4p.m. The event will be held in Room T of the High School. Teachers will be on hand to allowing visitors the opportunity to explore various art forms. Visitors will be able to try oil painting, water color painting, computer applications, making greeting cards, drawing coloring pages and then coloring them. No experience necessary.


Ellwood City’s Fall Fest Photo Gallery

Many families and individuals enjoyed the festivities that took place Saturday in downtown Ellwood, thanks to the Fall Fest. This year the event included live performances, local vendors and concessions, carriage rides, a car cruise, and many other activities. Ellwood City Prepares for Fall Fest

Fall decorations are taking the town by storm as the community prepares for tomorrow’s Fall Fest. There are stocks of straw wrapped around lamp posts, vendor stands are slowly starting to appear, and store owners are putting the finishing touches on their storefront-autumn themed decorations. Last year there was a great turn out of people who attended the Fall Fest; vendors and store owners are hoping for the a good turnout again this year. Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Tuesday, September 27, at 3:00 p.m. – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. Changes Made to This Weekend’s Farmers Market

Please Note – due to the Fall Festival in downtown the market will be light on vendors this Saturday September 24th. 3D produce and a few others will be set up for regular market start time and place. We have been told Beaver Avenue will be open. 37th Annual Lawrence County Marching Band Festival

Lincoln High School will be hosting the 37th annual Lawrence County Marching Band Festival on Wednesday September 21 at 7p.m., doors open at 5:30p.m. The following school bands will be participating in the event: Lincoln, Shenango, Mohawk, Union, Neshannock, Laurel, Wilmington, New Castle, and Westminster College; each band will be performing samples of their half time shows. Lincoln High School Blue Band Boosters will be selling concessions and having a bake sale. You can send candy grams for $3.00 or cookie grams for $2.00 to your favorite band member. The 15th Annual Story Telling Festival

The 15th annual Story Telling Festival, brought to you by Ellwood City Public Library and supporting sponsors, will be hosted in Ewing Park on September 17 from 4p.m. to 7:30p.m. The storytelling stage will feature talented performances from Jocelyn Dabney, Mike Kennelly, Bill Pate, Michael Perry and Joanna Demarest. Performances will be followed by 15 minute intermissions, a perfect time to enjoy free activities like horse drawn trolley rides, face painting, strolling minstrels and balloon art.
