Child Friendly Halloween To-Do’s Around Lawrence County

Haunted Hayride: Riverside Memorial Stadium When: Thursday October 6 (7p.m.-9p.m.), Saturday October 8, and Sunday October 9. Non-spooky hay rides are from 6p.m.-dark, spooky hayrides start at dark -10p.m. Non-spooky tickets are $5 and spooky tickets are $7. Drug Disposal Event

Turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal Saturday, October 22, from 10a.m. to 2p.m. at the Ellwood City Municipal Building. This event is sponsored by the Ellwood City Police Department. For more information visit www.dea.gov.


Ellwood City’s Powderpuff Game Tonight

Ellwood City’s Lincoln High School will be hosting their annual Powderpuff game tonight at Helling Stadium. Freshmen vs. Sophmore will start at 6p.m. and Juniors vs. Seniors will start at 8p.m. Cost of admission is $3.00 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.


Wurtemburg United Methodist Church Soup Supper

Wurtemburg United Methodist Church (1244 Portersville Road  (Rt 488 by 3rd bridge) Ellwood City, PA  16117) will be having their “Second Saturday” Soup Supper on October 8th from 4p.m. to 6:30p.m. Soup flavors will be stuffed pepper and beef veggie. The meal includes soup,  Italian bread, homemade rolls, dessert, beverages & refills. Grilled cheese sandwiches will be available for $1.00 and quarts of soup are $6.00. Eat-in and take-out are both $6; under age 5 Free. Come, relax and enjoy fresh homemade soups and desserts. Please mark your calendar for every  “Second Saturday” through April. Eastern Star Soup Supper

The Eastern Star Soup Supper will be held October 7 from 11:30a.m. and 6:30p.m at the Christ Presbyterian Church 4th Street and Spring Avenue. Flavors of the served soups will be beef vegetable and chicken noodle; dinner consists of all you can eat soup, bread, pie, and drink. Adult tickets are $7 and children ages 4-12 are $5. Children 3 and under get in for free. Take-out will be available and sold by the quart for $5.00. Funds raised will be used for charitable donation which are made by the Chapter.    


Local Business Celebrates their 25th Anniversary with Public “25” Celebration Event

T&M Hardware will be celebrating their 25th anniversary on October 22, and they are inviting everyone to the celebration event! The event will be held at the Ellwood City location, 4 Fountain Avenue. 7th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest

The 7th annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest is on Saturday, October 7th from 12:00p.m. – 5:30p.m. in Ewing Park, rain or shine. The event is geared toward an adult crowd and will feature food, beer samples, live music, prizes, and a Cornhole tournament. Craft beer will be presented by Pete’s Uptown Beer & Beverage and a dozen or more home brews will be available for sampling. Upcoming Relay For Life Events

Relay For Life Event Leadership Meeting Wednesday, October 12, 2016 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. It is time again to start planning for the 2017 Ellwood City Relay For Life event.  Our members have been busy working on new ideas for more community involvement, come out and give us your ideas!  We meet at the Wellness Center next to Ewing Park Bridge at 6 pm, don’t shy away because of the meeting length or because you don’t  want to be committed to long term involvement in Relay.  Give us what time you have and be included in how this event comes…


Ellwood City’s Homecoming

Lincoln High School’s Homecoming is going to be this Friday, September 30, at the Wolverines home game. Activities begin around 6:20 and at the end of the first quarter Mr. Lape will distribute the WPIAL softball Championship Rings and at half time the queen will be announced. Tickets for Friday’s homecoming game vs Valley will be on sale in the high school office starting on Wednesday 9-28 until 2:30 Friday 9-30. Presale prices will be $4 for adults and $1 for students. All tickets sold at the gate will be $5.
