St. Elias Orthodox Church will be holding a weekly Orthodox Spirituality Study Group every Saturday at 5 pm, starting October 22. Discussions will be based on the book The Mountain of Silence: A Search for Orthodox Spirituality by Kyriacos Markides. In this book, the author presents conversations, reflections, and personal dialogue, plus history and travel information that explore the Orthodox spiritual tradition. The cast of the upcoming Lincoln High School’s The Little Mermaid will be presenting an Under the Sea Extravaganza on 10/22/16 from 2-5p.m. at the high school cafeteria. The Under the Sea Extravaganza is designed specifically to raise money for the production of The Little Mermaid musical. A musical is produced annually in the fall by the music dept staff at Lincoln High School -the school district does not provide funds for the musical production so all the fundraising is all done by the cast. Ellwood City’s Kitchen Cabinet is hosting an “Open Street” event ahead of the annual Halloween Parade on Oct. 29 from 1p-3p (Parade begins 3:30).
