Wolverines Track & Field Team Eyeing WPIAL Championships

After its qualifying victory last week at West Mifflin, the Ellwood City boys track and field team will turn its focus to the WPIAL Championships on Tuesday. The team earned its first-ever playoff win knocking off five foes in the qualifier last Thursday. The WPIAL Team AA Championships will be held at Peter’s Township Stadium: Confluence Financial Partners Stadium beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines will face off against Hopewell, Quaker Valley and the reigning Class-2A champion Greensburg Central Catholic. April showers (and we had plenty) bring May flowers! Many in the area the month used the wet month of April to buy or sell real estate property. THEFT: Between the times of 4:00 p.m. on April 24th and 12:26 a.m. on April 27th, an unknown suspect proceeded into the unlocked door of a 53-year-old Wampum man’s vehicle located on Henry Street, Wayne Township, and stole a black Sig Sauer P365, gun magazine, Oakley sunglasses, two pocket knives, and flashlight. PHOTOS: Ellwood City Boys’ Track And Field Advances To WPIAL Finals

The Ellwood City Boys’ Track And Field team is heading to the WPIAL 2A Finals next week after a dominating performance in Wednesday afternoon’s qualifying meet at West Mifflin High School. The Wolverines steamrolled its five foes Wednesday beating Riverview 84-66, West Mifflin 86-64, Knock 87.5-62.5 and Waynesburg Central 91-59. There are some major conveniences that we take for granted. Like going out for the day and not having to worry about finding a restroom that is easily usable.
