1st Annual Wine And Bourbon Walk Is Saturday

Don’t forget, this Saturday is the Ellwood-Parian Masonic Lodge’s First Annual Wine & Bourbon Walk on Lawrence Avenue. Merchants in downtown Ellwood City, PA will be hosting Pennsylvania wineries and distilleries. The merchants and restaurants will also be offering specials, food sampling and more! POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

HARASSMENT: On April 6th at approximately 1:28 a.m., PA State Police responded to a report of a domestic altercation at a residence on Spring Avenue Extension, Wayne Township. According to information received, amidst a verbal altercation, a 35-year-old male became physical with a 32-year-old female victim. Slade Recognized as 2023 National Merit Scholarship Winner at ECASD Board of Directors Meeting

Hayden Slade, a senior at Lincoln High School, was recognized during Thursdays Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors meeting after being named a 2023 National Merit Scholarship winner. More than1.5 million students entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors. Slade was named one of 15,000 finalists in February and was just named an official winner on Wednesday. He was one of 2,500 winners across the nation. 2023 Riverside Prom Courts Announced

Riverside Junior/Senior promenade will take place Friday, May 12, at the Riverside High School auditorium. Students will participate in the Grand March at 6 pm, starting in the gymnasium and proceeding to the auditorium, where the stage has been decorated in this year’s theme, A Night in Vegas. Promenade will conclude with the crowning of Prom Queen by Liz Frazer, this year’s Riverside Homecoming Queen. Lady Panthers Defeat Hopewell Thanks To Sixth Inning Boost

The Riverside Lady Panthers scored eight runs in the sixth inning on its way to a 12-1 victory over Hopewell on Wednesday. PA TURNPIKE: Total Reconstruction Project Underway Near Ellwood City Exit

For many Ellwoodians who use the convenience of the nearby PA Turnpike for travel, there is an extensive project underway that may have drawn some driver’s attention. According to Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission officials, construction is underway on a $270M total reconstruction and widening of two miles of the Turnpike’s east-west mainline (Interstate 76) between Milepost 12 and Milepost 14 in Beaver County that will include new interchange at the Exit 13 Beaver Valley (Beaver Falls/Ellwood City) exit. Riverside used a stellar performance by sophomore Christian Lucarelli Tuesday to wrap up a two game sweep of Mohawk and to collect its undefeated section championship.
